What is oswego canal?

Oswego Canal is a man-made waterway in New York State that connects the cities of Oswego and Syracuse. It was built in the 19th century to transport goods from the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean. The canal is 24 miles long and has eleven locks that raise and lower boats. The maximum depth of the canal is 14 feet, and the width is 46 feet.
